Somers School Camp was redeveloped in early 2017, receiving a much-deserved facelift and asbestos removal. BHAPM oversaw the development of eight brand new, prefabricated dormitory rooms.
Aligning our offerings with Somers School Camps’ aim to inspire students with environmental awareness, we ensured that the construction of the prefabricated buildings had minimal impact on the local natural environment.
The dormitory rooms, comprising sleeping quarters, shower and toilet facilities, and a breakout learning space, were constructed in a warehouse which ensured minimal construction waste and a low environmental impact.
It took eight weeks for BHAPM to deliver asbestos removal management, demolition management for the previous buildings, and delivery and instalment of the new dormitories. Unlike regular construction practices, the process for installing the prefabricated dormitories ensured disruption of Somers School Camp’s services was limited.
